Lucy, Schroeder, Peppermint Patty,
Sally, Rerun, Linus too.
Marcie, Woodstock, Franklin, Pigpen,
Snoopy-that’s the Peanuts Crew.
You’re a good man, Charlie Brown,
And all your friends gather ‘round.

Lucy is the crabby sort,
She is awful at all sports.
Her psychiatrist booth costs you,
Pay her 5 cents-that’s what’s due.
“You’re a blockhead!”-so she says,
but change doctors and you’re dead.

Schroeder is musically inclined,
he plays Beethoven all the time.
Lucy loves him-he doesn’t know,
if she bugs him, “KLUNK!” she will go.
Schroeder loves to play the piano,
especially Beethoven’s 5th concerto.

Peppermint Patty loves all sports,
though her manners are the worst.
She loves Chuck, Marcie does too,
They both share him, wouldn’t you?
Punt the football, kick it hard,
When you’re done, you might be scarred.

Sally Brown is naive, but cute,
she asks Santa for the loot.
She wants the money, so you see,
sign the letter, “with love, me”.
Bring it wrapped in polka-dots,
and make sure it’s lots and lots.

Rerun is the less known one,
He and Snoopy have lots of fun.
They play cards and basketball,
Rerun always wears overalls.
Van Pelt is this boys’ last name
He is in Lucy and Linus’ domain.

Linus is Charlie Brown’s best friend,
They talk upon the wall to no end.
Linus is so very smart,
He loves blankets, thumbs and art.
Lucy scorns him, he doesn’t care;
He and his blanket are quite a pair.

Marcie is so smart and shy,
Sports like football make her cry.
She calls Peppermint Patty “sir”,
Willingly shares Charles with her.
Marcie always finishes her work,
She is nice but has strange quirks.

Woodstock only speaks in lines,
But he likes to sing sometimes.
He and Snoopy are best friends,
They sing and dance around the bend.
They laugh, and play, and they help out,
That’s what friends are all about!

Franklin is the only colored one,
He and the gang have lots of fun.
Franklin does very well at sports
He loves soccer, football and more!
Baseball, basketball-he loves those too.
He is kind and will teach you.

Pigpen is all covered in dirt,
He takes mud baths-they don't work.
Civilizations' dust lies on him,
He looks like a dust cloud rolling in.
When he's clean, no one will know,
Just who is that boy on the go.

Snoopy is a happy dog,
He loves dancing and singing along.
He is always very hungry,
His stomach is super grumbly.
"Curse you, Red Baron!" is what he shouts,
He always sleeps atop his dog house.

Charlie Brown can't fly a kite,
Though he tries with all his might.
Halloween time only brings him rocks,
Never gets valentines, only gets mocked.
Baseball captain, worrier, friend,
We all love Charlie Brown to the end!
That's the Peanut Gang, you see,
Funny comic strip to read.
Though they bring each other strife,
They'll be friends all of their lives.
Charles Schultz was smart, yes siree,
Children help the world to see.

ReplyDeleteI just have to say that Linus is my personal favorite...how can one not connect to at least one of the Peanuts characters?
ReplyDeleteSnoopy is my absolute favorite! But I love them all. They make me so happy! :D I feel like I can connect with at least one part in each of them :)
