Invisible

A few nights ago, the kids and I were having dinner. Wall-e and Mo were throwing napkins in the air. Mo said: "the napkins are flying, or like wind" "But wind is invisible!" said Wall-e.

Is it though? You can't see wind itself, but you can see what it affects; the trees bending, hair flicking your face, leaves blown in twisty formations. Maybe acts work this way too. Acts of kindness or love may seem invisible, but they affect us.

Quotes from the movie "Angels in the Outfield":

Al (the Boss Angel): "Even though you can't see us, we're always watching."
Maggie (the foster parent of Roger): "The footprints of an angel are love."

Maybe there are so many things that seem invisible to us, but affect us in very important ways.

Last thought:

"Scatter kindness,
Gather love!"

For the Beauty of the Earth

I'm so thankful for the Earth, the sky, the plants, the animals. How grateful I am that Heavenly Father made it for me.

I love the sky. I love the sunrises, the sunsets, the plain blue color during clear days. I love seeing it rain and snow.

I love the plants. The flowers, the leaves, the fruits and vegetables.

I love the animals. Even though I'm allergic to some of them, they a
re so amazing. I love the majesty of the lion; the meekness of the lamb; and how one day they will live together in harmony.

I think that I need to stop more often to look around me and see what Heavenly Father has done for me. I'm sure that there are so many things each day that I miss. I'm so grateful for all that He has given me, and continues to give me.

There are so many reasons for rejoicing and happiness, so many reasons to enjoy the positive things in life.

We just have to find them.

The picture of the lamb and the lion: "Without Any Ire" is from http://www.familyartusa.com/site/253614/product/NG-01

Isn't it neat?

Look at this stuff
Isn't it neat?

Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the girl
The girl who has everything?
Look at this trove Treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Looking around here you think Sure, she's got everything
I've got gadgets and gizmos a-plenty
I've got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs? I've got twenty!

Why do we have thin
gs? Is it because they mean something to us? Maybe, deep down inside, the objects that we consider gadgets, gizmos, whozits, whatzits, thingamabobs, really represent something.....

What do you collect?

Medieval Hairdo

About a month ago, my English class was doing a medieval unit. We all acted chivalrously and earned the points that we deserved that day(Mrs. Peirce decided; she was the Queen :)
On the last Chivalry day, the girls had a fancy hair contest. My awesome sister, Amber stayed up for 2 hours to create my hair do.

It was amazing! I won the contest at school; got extra points.
This what happened after my mom helped me take it all out.

Just thought it was cool. Thanks Amber!!

Photographer Project

I'm sure that I will be posting on this blog often, lots of times when I should be doing my homework. Like now.
The homework I am (supposed) to be working on now is finding a photographer that I admire and do a report on him/her. I chose a man named Rick Satterfield. He photographs LDS Temples. Here is one of his photos.

Next, I need to take some photos like him, or using his style (by the way, I'm using a SLR 35 mm camera with black and white film). I'm excited to see how they turn out!

Trying it out

I'm just going to try this blogging-thingy out, so don't be dissapointed if I stop. :)

And I would love to hear from you, so leave comments!!
